Customer Engagement & Product Design Intern
VGS is at the forefront of gas utility innovation – we are the first gas utility in the country to offer customer’s renewable natural gas sourced from local farm waste and we are the only gas utility in the country to work with customers on home electrification; selling, leasing, and servicing electric heat pumps and hot water heat pumps. With a company goal to achieve net zero by 2050, we still have a lot of work ahead of us. As a Customer Engagement & Product Design Intern, you'll work with our Innovation group to support VGS’s decarbonization goals. Through customer engagement and research, you'll help evaluate our current approach to delivering in-home services, inform the products we offer next, and help shape the ideal customer experience. You’ll be engaging with VT residents through one-to-one interviews, group discussions, and surveys.
Salary Range:
$17.00 To $17.00 Hourly

If you're a strong critical thinker with a deep sense of curiosity and a passion for energy and climate change, this internship is perfect for you! Specific Learning Objectives:- Gain hands-on experience with customer-informed product design principles and practices.
- Understand consumer market barriers related to the adoption of clean energy products and services.
- Learn about innovative market intervention strategies implemented by utilities and energy efficiency programs.
- Network with industry leaders and understand how various parts of the organization work together.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills; can build rapport quickly
- Experience collecting, organizing, and analyzing data
- Experience performing research-driven market engagement
