Summer Literacy Camp Facilitator

Vermont Literacy Network is seeking a creative, enthusiastic Summer Literacy Camp Facilitator to lead literacy camps this summer! This role involves developing and implementing engaging, evidence-based literacy activities, and creating a fun environment that encourages a love of reading and writing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate half-day literacy camps for children ages 3-6 and 7-10
• Create a positive, inclusive environment that supports literacy skill development for children of all backgrounds and learning needs
• Design and lead daily activities that correspond with the camp's theme
• Maintain open communication with the Executive Director and the students' adults

• Bachelor’s degree in Education (or related field); VT Teaching License preferred
• Experience working with children in educational or camp settings
• Knowledge of literacy skill development, with an understanding of how to plan, implement, and scaffold play-based activities for children with varying abilities
• Strong commitment to promoting equity, inclusion, and cultural responsiveness in all programming and interactions
• Passion for fostering a love of reading and supporting students’ academic growth
