Infant/Toddler Teacher Position

Otter Creek is a 5 STARS, NAEYC accredited early care and education center serving children 6 weeks to 6 years and their families, in Middlebury, Vermont.  Our emergent curriculum recognizes the importance of play and strives to create connections with the natural world and the community in which we live.  Teachers plan curriculum based on the demonstrated interests of children and the belief that children actively engage in the construction of their own knowledge. 

We are looking for a teacher:

• who sees themselves as a professional and has an appreciation of diversity
• who has demonstrated communication skills and has the ability to maintain confidentiality
• who has a commitment to family centered practice
• who has the desire to work as part of a team committed to reflection about teaching and learning
• to collaborate on planning and implementing curriculum using observation and documentation to inform child assessment and program planning in a cycle of inquiry

Preferred: CDA, VT EC Apprentice, AA in Early Childhood Education or related field, or BA in Early Childhood Education or related field

Required: High School Diploma

Additional requirements:
Working knowledge of Vermont Early Learning Standards, NAEYC standards and Vermont regulations pertaining to early childhood education
